Heartland Health Region Releases Annual Report for 2014-15

Heartland Health Region has had many successes in achieving its goals of Better Health, Better Care, Better Teams, and Better Value. A detailed look at these successes plus a review of the Region’s strategies, targets, actions, challenges, and results is available in Heartland Health Region’s 2014-2015
Annual Report, which also contains the Region’s audited financial statements. The report was released July 29, 2015 following tabling of the document with the Saskatchewan Legislature.

Capital Equipment Budget Approved by Heartland Regional Health Authority

The Heartland Regional Health Authority (HRHA) has approved a capital budget that will address capital equipment priorities throughout the region’s communities. The 2015-16 capital equipment and projects budget was approved at the Heartland Regional Health Authority’s special meeting on June 25th. This capital budget will provide funds to the region to purchase equipment and renovations related to patient and staff safety.

A New Doctor Practices in Heartland Health Region

Patients all across Saskatchewan continue to have better access to physician care. A new family doctor is now practising in Eston, thanks to the Saskatchewan International Physician Practice Assessment (SIPPA) program.   

Dr. Tokunbo Dabiri joins many other International Medical Graduate (IMG) colleagues already practising in Saskatchewan. SIPPA is a unique Saskatchewan program that assesses IMGs on their education and clinical ability before allowing them to practise medicine. Since the program began in 2011, close to 180 new family physicians have completed the assessment and are currently practising in the province.

Working Group to Address Primary Health Care Recommendations for Kindersley and Area

Heartland Regional Health Authority Approves 2015-16 Budget and Operational Plan

The Heartland Regional Health Authority approved a balanced operating budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year at its meeting on June 5th, 2015 in Rosetown. The HRHA also approved the 2015-16 operational plan. The budget and operational plan are aligned with the 2015-16 Provincial Health Plan and the corresponding strategic priorities, vision and values for the health region. Heartland Health Region provides services to over 44,000 people in 57 urban and rural communities.
